The 'Sedi' Smart Bench Offers Connectivity, Charging and More

The 'Sedi' smart bench has been designed by Adelaide, Australia-based engineering company Specialised Solutions as a sustainable furniture piece for urban areas that will enhance connectivity for citizens. Crafted using sustainable timber and steel, the bench features solar panels on the top portion to ensure it has an uninterrupted supple of power that isn't reliant on the grid.

The benches are outfitted with a number of built-in charging points, offer WiFi and feature a digital screen on the side that will provide information pertaining to public transportation, news and more. The 'Sedi' smart bench is set to retail for $10,000 each and are presently being trialled in various locations in Australia including Flinders University where installation coincided with opening day in August.
