Sleep-Tracking Sensors

Samsung's New 'SleepSense' Device Provides Users With Daily Sleep Reports

The new SleepSense from Samsung attempts to use technology to gain a better understanding of our sleep patterns. The small paddle-shaped device tucks under your bed, and will track a variety of things for you while you sleep. The SleepSense is able to track when a user falls asleep, heart rate, respiration and any movements made while sleeping.

The SleepSense then uses the data collected each night, and creates a score out of 80, which is sent to a smartphone via Bluetooth. These reports allow users to quantify their sleep patterns and compare it to other days, weeks or months.

Keeping it in the family, the SleepSense will be able to connect to other Samsung devices, including the new SmartThings smart hub, which will allow users to dim the lights, turn off the TV and even adjust the air conditioning.
