Acoustic Shark Repellents

Don't Fear Going into the Water with the SharkStopper

The SharkStopper acoustic repellent is the perfect device for any surfer who worries about becoming a shark's next meal, while trying to catch that perfect wave.

SharkStopper is an ankle bracelet, weighing no more than a cellphone, that emits a sound similar to that of a killer whale in addition to a "patented frequency overlay" when it becomes wet. Because the killer whale is a predator of the shark, the sound is said to keep these aquatic predators at bay.

The SharkStopper is currently seeking funding on KickStarter, but the creators also have plans to further develop the technology so that SharkStopper can be used on commercial fishing boats, where many sharks die from getting tangled in fishing lines and nets.
