These Shadow Lamps are Stunning Sculptures by Day & Light Shows by Night

Designed by Pranaya Design based in the Czech Republic, these shadow lamps are intricate sculptures of beauty. The wooden boxes are laser cut to cast spectacular shadows of images like forests, flowers and geometric shapes.

The dark rich wood provides a darkening contrast so that light filters cleanly out of the laser-cut shapes without escaping any random nooks and crannies. The Tree of Life provides the inspiration for the name of the design firm as well as its logo and images in the shadow lamps themselves.

The designs are made digitally and then processed by a laser-cutting machine. The pair of designers then stain the wood, glue the pieces together and varnish the sculptures by hand.
