Created with the inspiration of the Shukhov Tower in Moscow in mind, the 'shukhov' seat stool features a DIY assembly aesthetic that incorporates a number of different materials.
Starting with the base, the stool consists of support poles that are implemented into the seat bottom and held in place using 3D-printed joints. These support legs are kept together using string, while the seat cushion is crafted from a series of individual corks that are held together using a strap to apply pressure.
The final look of the 'shukhov' seat stool is somewhat skeletal with a comfortable aesthetic that makes it suitable for use in modern homes. The 'shukhov' stool is the design work of Anna Strupinskaya and Alexey Ivashkevich, and identifies how flatpack products can be designed to be unique.
