Sculpture Racing

Kinetic Mobiles, Like Giant Pink Poodles, For Mud & Road Racing

Taking the concept of art cars up a notch, the Kinetic Sculpture Racing traces its roots to Ferndale, California in 1969. The 50th Anniversary race of this awesome and brilliant event just took place, and the images are nothing short of brilliant.

As for the race, the sculptures have to be both beautiful and fairly sturdy as the race is a non-too-short 15 miles and includes a trip into Chesapeake Bay where they need to travel through water, sand and mud.
