This Scottish home may have been updated for the modern family, but it preserves its historical heritage in a beautiful way. So much so that what might appear to be flaws in the original building are still there. The stone house was originally built in mid-1700s and so that's a lot of trust in the old structure.
Yet the Scottish home is more striking for these perceived flaws. Renovated by WT Architects, it can be found on the Isle of Coll in Scotland. It was abandoned in the mid-1800s when it started to crack and yet still stands strong today. The ruin was transformed into a contemporary house by saving the walls and gutting everything else.
