Stylish School Architecture

Hakli Architects Creates the Omenapuisto Daycare Center

School architecture is not normally associated with the words "innovation" or "modern," but this design by Hakli Architects changes this dialogue. Built with safety in mind, the school has a more open area in the center with a balcony on the upper level, allowing teachers to keep watch over the kids without hovering too close.

Ample natural light also floods into the play areas, but is still protected from the elements. Considering how cold it can get in the winter in Finland, this is a much-welcomed concept. The natural layout of the land is used quite well, as slides for the children are put in areas that went downwards naturally. Overall this school architecture has an extremely natural look, with wood covering most of the surrounding walls and is even seen in the interior. Photo Credits: designboom, arkhakli.fi
