Scarcity is Beautiful by Goldstein Celebrates What's Left Behind

Scarcity is Beautiful is a furniture series that delves into the idea of what is left behind by many consumerist societies. The desire for more stuff--new stuff--is a hazardous habit that erodes away at people's innate ability to appreciate and cherish the old. Nostalgia is dashed away by covetousness in an attempt to keep up with the Joneses.

A continuation of the original Repair is Beautiful series, the Scarcity is Beautiful collection was created by Paulo Goldstein. He was commissioned by Head of College Professor Jeremy Till, who was recent research on scarcity. The resulting creations are currently on display in the Central Saint Martins' new Front Parlor at Kings Cross. It explores the question, "What if instead of adding one, redistribute what is there already?"
