Secluded Australian Luxury

Secluded along the shore in the New Tweed Coast in northern New South Wales Australia lies the Santai Resort, Australia's first five star Balinese style report. I recently reviewed this resort as an emerging and up and coming luxurious alternative to the nearby and better known Gold Coast.

Santai features an ultra-chic Balinese architecture with exotic timbers and marble floors, a lagoon pool, world class dining, and a day spa with ultra-relaxing massages.

Located on site at Santai is the Bamboo Restaurant and Lounge Bar. Headed by award winning Australian restaurateur Toby Bamford, Bamboo offers a combination of European and Austrian flavour with Indonesian inspiration to go with the theme of the resort. Though you can pick an item off the menu, I recommend you indulge in the delectable dégustation menu that's ahead of its time for the tranquil Tweed Coast. The Bamboo restaurant is also open for breakfast, which you enjoy on the patio overlooking the pool.

A quick walk down the path from Santai is a secluded beach on the Pacific Ocean. Unlike the crowded beaches just a short drive north in Surfer's Paradise in the Gold Coast, the beach at Santai feels almost deserted. The properties at Santai are set back from the beach so when you're on the beach you can't see the buildings, giving the beach an even more private, peaceful feel. Private yoga lessons can be arranged on the beach for a truly serene experience.

And if you're tired of the food and seashore life, every apartment offers flat screen high definition TVs (true 1080p) and a jacuzzi.
