Sarcastic Real Estate Rentals

Scot Hampton’s Photo Series Mocks San Francisco Real Estate Pricing

San Francisco real estate is known to have insanely high pricing. Photographer Scot Hampton decided to make a mockery of these high housing prices with his latest series 'For Rent.' The collection of photos feature sarcastic ‘For Rent’ signs placed on peculiar city objects.

Scot promotes the sales of mailboxes, sewers and public parks as humble abodes with hilarious descriptions. SanFran-natives can "rent" a dumpster (also known as a "waterfront condo") in an "up-and-coming mid-Market area." The property also boasts aromatic smells of the UN Plaza fountain and is close to "several aggressive seagulls."

Scot even posted many of the listings on Craigslist, which ironically adhere to the neighborhood's pricey reputation and cost up to $7,000 per month! He did a witty, yet compelling job of exposing the difficulties that coincide with living in a big city.
