Salvation Army Citadel Corps Breaks with Construction Tradition

This rainbow building is the Salvation Army Citadel Corps located in Chelmsford, UK.

Hudson Architects are responsible for the rainbow-colored flair given to the building. Rather than using brick for the citadel, they chose to use timber cloaked in an undulating zinc roof.

Not only is the Salvation Army Citadel Corps a beauty, it is also functional, since it provides the organization with new community facilities and a worship hall.

Implications - As society becomes more accepting of the many differences that exist in the world, consumers look for designs that reflect this as well. Products that are exploratory in terms of boundaries are appealing to those who want to experience different sides of themselves. In order to stay appealing, a company could create more abstract designs in their items.
