Miniscule Portable Homes

The Salsa Box is Tiny Yet Manages to Offer All the Amenities You Need

The Salsa Box, produced by Oregon-based company Shelter Wise, is a home that takes the concept of small-scale living to the next level. The house may offer only as little as 9 square meters of space but the quality of the materials and layout make the idea of living in it not just bearable, but possibly even enjoyable.

The Salsa Box is fitted with a queen-sized bed and amenities such as an electrical hook-up, a flushing toilet, electric hot water heater, shower and mini-tub as well as a kitchenette -- all thoughtfully placed.

The Salsa Box can even be optionally manipulated to become a completely off-grid dwelling. The flushing toilet can be swapped for a composting one, solar power can be incorporated and a water catchment system can be attached to the roof.

The standard Salsa Box measures 3.5 x 2.4 meters, while there are larger 4.8, 5.4 and 6 meter long versions available.
