Salangban by Seung Yong Song Looks Like a Chinese Lantern

Solitude can be a rare occurrence for those who live in urban settings, but Salangban by Seung Yong Song provides a peaceful place for quiet relaxation and reflection. Interestingly enough, however, this cocooned seat was inspired by the cottage in which the Korean designer grew up. He writes, "There was no fence or gate where I used to live before. Opening the doors, the cottage became one altogether with [...] nature. [...] By opening and closing the door, space is connected or divided. Even within an extensive space, it is possible to create a cozy space of own."

Like a Chinese lantern, Salangban by Seung Yong Song features wooden beams that are covered from within with sheer fabric. When completely closed and inhabited, the seat looks like it is glowing.
