The Saint Herblain School of Arts may boast a music and dance theatre on the top floor and an expansive exhibit space on the bottom, but it is the staircase that connects the two that will truly impress visitors and students alike. A large, sculptural presence, it adds a vibrancy to the bottom floor, which basically sports an all-white interior design.
Designed by French firm Tetrarc Architects, the Saint Herblain School of Arts’ staircase has an almost amoeba-like form that widens bulbously as it extends higher. Made out of wood, it has alternating planks of colorful lumber, which adds to its overall artistic presence.
