Idyllic Hillside Homes

This Rustic Mountain House in Mexico is Stunning and Unique

If you’re a nature lover, prepare to fall in love—and take a mental note for future reference—with this breathtakingly beautiful architectural feat in the form of a rustic mountain house.

Nestled in the lush and heavily vegetated flowing hillside landscape of El Jonuco, Mexico, this idyllic concrete house was designed by Mexican architect David Pedroza Castañeda. Looking like waves of overlapping structures put together, this red rustic mountain house just has the treetops and the sound of silence as neighbors.

Using local Mexican cypress beams and hardwood floors for the earthy design, the house has floor-to-ceiling windows to make sure the surrounding views are always on show.

"This mountain-enclosed neighborhood reminds us of numerous Mexican towns where tall mountains limit the valley where its inhabitants settle," says Castañeda. "Residents live alongside the typical vegetation and wildlife."
