Recycled Carpet Sample Furniture

Rugburm Lounge Chair

The Rugburm Lounge Chair is an interesting piece of furniture, merging hollow tubes of chocolate brown and pastel blue, purple and seafoam green to create a unique piece of recycled seating.

The colourful tubes are actually made of cardboard wrapped in castoff, carpet sample tiles. The project was made for the Ample Sample contest which supports the “rescue by design” of thousands of carpet samples which would otherwise go to waste.

The Rugburm, designed by RSA, won the entire contest.
