Kelly Wearstler and Masastudio Design the Romick House

Working together, architecture firm Masastudio creates the Romick House with interiors that are designed by Kelly Wearstler. The team created a white house which is defined by its open and enclosed spaces that form a 'village' like area. The residence is home to avid art collectors who have a deep admiration of modern architecture and design. The idea is to capture a space that is representative of a 'modern ruin.'

Co-founder of Masastudio, Marwan Al Sayed tells Dezeen, "I've always been influenced by Louis Kahn's work and the idea of looking more towards ancient architecture and ruins. In some of our initial meetings, the clients often referred to the feeling you get when you're inside Greek architecture. There's a timelessness and solemnity to it. But at the same time, they're both very interested in art and collecting art. So they're very open, and have a modern sensibility."
