A Rolls-Royce Design for an All-Electric Car is in the Works

Within the next three years, there's set to be a plug-in hybrid Rolls-Royce design from the luxury automaker. The big announcement took place at this year's Geneva Motor Show, with the CEO of Rolls-Royce, Torsten Müller-Otvos, noting that this design will become "essential in two years, maybe not from customer demand but through legal regulation on emissions."

This is not the first time Rolls-Royce has entertained this idea though. Previously, it was thought that the ultra luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom sedan would be offered in an electric version, but this didn't seem to conjure up much excitement from its existing consumer base. However, with the push for vehicles to become more eco-friendly, in three years time hopefully Rolls-Royce will find a more receptive audience.
