Precariously Perched Houses

TAF's Conceptual Rock House Design is Impossibly Balanced

Swedish design studio TAF developed a fantastical rock house as part of a two poster series for the Danish poster brand Paper Collective. Initially, to bring the concept fully to life beyond the dimensions of a flat paper, TAF created an interesting model to go along with the impossible design.

The house has a highly dramatic pitched roof and a large round porthole window in addition to several other geometric openings. The house balances itself on four rocks, which takes inspiration from the designs of old Swedish grain stores that used to be perched on rocks as well.

The TAF-designed house was then translated into a series of graphics for Paper Collective, making the house even more surreal and abstract by taking it apart and having some of its pieces float even more precariously.
