Following the success of how well its Riced Cauliflower was received by consumers, Trader Joe's launched Riced Broccoli as a more colorful plant-based alternative to rice that still boasts plenty of taste and texture.
To achieve a crunchy texture, Trader Joe's created the majority of the product from broccoli stems rather than the florets, which it says offers a firmer texture and a flavor that is "much milder than that of florets, which actually makes it more rice-y."
Trader Joe's Riced Broccoli is a single-ingredient rice substitute that can be used in the same way as conventional pasta or rice products. Many consumers are now turning to plant-powered versions of grain-based goods to add an extra dose of greens to their diet, as well as satisfying gluten-free and low-carb options.
