The 'rEvolve House' is a Tiny Home Powered Entirely by Solar Panels

Built as part of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District's 'Tiny House Competition,' the 'rEvolve House' is a diminutive home that uses solar energy to allow its residents to live entirely off the grid.

Tiny homes have become increasingly popular due to their environmental benefits, which is why Sacramento's municipal authority opened the Tiny House Competition. rEvolve House, the winner of the inaugural event, is a sterling example of the benefits that a tiny home can have.

While rEvolve takes up a meager 238 square feet, its designers -- a class from Santa Clara University -- have made maximal use of that minimal footage. The home's interior is small, naturally, but rEvolve House has stairs that lead to the rooftop, and its structural integrity is enough to support multiple people atop it.
