Recyclable Chic Furniture

Beth Fuller's Junkture Table

The Junkture Table is yet another example that furniture made from recycled material does not have to look like rubbish. This chic table's centerpiece was made from a magnesium wheel rim that was recovered from a junkyard in NYC. This rim was then covered with black glass for that avant-garde, urban chic look. The table was designed by Beth Fuller.

Implications - Fuller says that "using recycled material is always a challenge" because it is not always easy turning something from the dumpster into "something desirable." Looking at the featured table, you would probably never be able to guess that it isn't brand new. Fuller also likes to think that her work is educational because it teaches "the public what’s actually going to the landfill, and how it can be given a new life.”
