The KerVelo Features a Unique Front-Wheel Transmission Setup

The KerVelo is a highly innovatively designed recumbent bicycle, conceived and invented by the Norwegian inventor Marc Le Borgne, that seeks to offer a viable alternative to regular recumbent bicycles.

Most conventional recumbent bicycles offer a very comfortable riding position but feature very long chains, because of the need to re-route power from the pedals located at the front all the way to the drive wheel that's at the rear. To get around this particular problem, the KerVelo recumbent bicycle has been designed with an 18-speed gearhub transmission -- embedded in the rear wheel.

This particular design enables riders to enjoy the riding position of a typical recumbent bike with the unblocked visibility of an upright bicycle.

The KerVelo proves that recumbent bicycles don't have to require the sacrifice of visibility or performance out on the road.
