The building dates back to the 1800s and features a beautifully laid-out red brick exterior with vine-covered walls. Uffe Leth and Karsten Gori are transforming the site into an activity center, called the Elephant House.
The recreational cancer-care center will offer survivors and those battling the disease spaces for rehabilitation, fitness, yoga, discussion groups and other events. The architectural remodeling and the reorganization of the building's interior give the 19th century chapel a more accessible feel.
