Personalized Museum Recordings

The Field Museum is Giving Exhibits Voices with a Recording Booth

The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago is launching a new campaign called 'Specimens with Something to Say,' which allows locals to visit a pop-up recording booth to read a script to accompany an exhibit.

At the Specimens audio booth, people are able to add their own voice to the museum for the chance to become a permanent part of the exhibits. As part of the project, over 100 short scripts were developed to bring plants, animals and even minerals to life.

Museums and other brick-and-mortar establishments are now challenging themselves to come up with inventive ways to boost both engagement and attendance. Interactive, multi-sensory exhibits are proving to be popular with consumers of all ages, as they offer the potential for a new level of experience to be had.
