The Rain Room at the Barbican Provides a Dry Rain Experience

The Rain Room at the Barbican is an installation that provides a condensation weather experience without the discomfort.

Staged in the Curve Gallery, at the Barbican in London, the installation simulates a rain shower. Visitors are able to feel the moisture in the air, and listen to the sound of the water around them without actually getting wet. This is achieved with cameras that detect movement and use the data to keep the rain itself away from the visitors.

The water from the rain atmosphere is filtered through the special-made grid floor that then allows collected condensation to be re-used in a cycle-motion. The Rain Room by rAndom International makes for a showstopping installation that is multi-sensory and enthralling.
