The Proteus Rail Interior System Maximizes Passenger Comfort

The Proteus Rail Interior System has been designed by London-based PressmanGoode as a new approach to train interior design that would provide passengers with a comfortable experience. The train cabin is focused on modularity and customization to accommodate the changing travel habits of consumers due to the ongoing pandemic. This includes fold-down aisle seats to allow for strollers or other mobility solutions to be stowed, while dedicated areas for those who use wheelchairs are observed at the front of the cabin.

The Proteus Rail Interior System was explained further by Senior Project Head at PriestmanGoode Mike Lambourn who said, "Future journeys must be the best possible experience to compete against the convenience of working from home and get people out of their cars. The staggered seat design is an innovation that provides a greater sense of space. The tip-up seat pan on aisle seats encourages a flow of passengers to the fixed window seats first and creates valuable space for passengers who want to complete the first or last mile of a journey on a fold-up bike – as an example."
