Pringles Packaging Now Has a Paper Base Instead of a Metal One

Pringles packaging has been given an overhaul by Kellanova Europe to help give it a more eco-friendly profile for consumers alike to appreciate.

The packaging sees the metal base replaced with a paper-made one to give the entire tube a fiber-based profile that is ready to be easily. recycled after use. The packaging meets the Circularity by Design guidelines as outlined by the European fiber-based packaging value chain and is suited for curbside recycling. The packaging is making its way to the UK, Belgium and Netherlands markets now with additional European markets expected to receive it in the near-future.

Senior Director of Salty Snacks at Kellanova Tracy Murphy spoke on the new Pringles packaging saying, "As part of our Better Days Promise, we have been working hard to reduce our environmental footprint. The recyclable Pringles tube is another crucial step in our sustainable packaging journey. Based on the trial of the paper tube in 2020, we already know that consumers love the new look and we’re now very excited that they’ll be able to get their hands on it."
