Portion Control Plates

The ETE Plate Sections the Surface to Discourage Overeating

ETE is a series of portion control plates that will help people stop from overeating on a daily basis. It is easy to get out of hand, especially around the holiday season, so people will be looking for ways to stay disciplined in a more strict fashion. These portion control plates provide a visual reminder of how much to consume while also suggesting specific amounts for different food groups.

Designed by Dutch designer Annet Bruil, the portion control plates visualize the recommended size for vegetables, protein and starches such as rice or pasta. Bruil writes, "People find it difficult to estimate how many vegetables they should eat. And even if they know it should be 200 grams a day, what does that look like on a plate?" He managed to figure that out.
