Poly Bowls by Colab Bring Dimension to the Center of Your Dining Table

These Poly Bowls by Colab demonstrate how a bowl can be so much more than a bowl. While they may not hold liquids or be microwave and dishwasher-safe, they embody aesthetic qualities that are quite exquisite.

Martin Zampach developed these hexagonal decorative servers as concepts in three different materials. He used anodized aluminum, rusted steel and a composite of wood and cork to produce remarkably different pieces with rich unique textures. Cut and assembled into an array of sizes, the fruit bowls are each made up of three surface components, folded in two places and then bolted together with hardware. Gaps remain between each module and the visual effect of the inward-slanting faces of the Poly Bowls challenges the flatness of the table beneath or the wall on which they're mounted.
