Unbalanced Playground Sets

Capucine Diancourt Tests Children to Find Stability with His Designs

Creatively inclined French designer Capucine Diancourt subverts the traditional notion of a playground set with his designs that challenge children with unbalanced structures. The set is dubbed the Loose Play and it provokes children to work harder at finding their balance on linear structures purposefully created to be unstable.

Diancourt's designs are truly one-of-a-kind in aesthetic and color. The Loose Play set features a variety of structures made from warped pieces of turquoise and pink metal to create new toys for kids to explore. Many of the structures rely on a disrupted sense of balancing to interact with the toy that Diancourt has cleverly interwoven into the designs to challenge children and allow them to shape the experience with the plaything. The set includes items such as see-saws and balancing seats.
