JG Architecture Fuses Cultural Histories with Modern Lifestyles

This plant-filled home in Taipei embraces sophistication, minimalism, and notions of contemporary design. The structure was built while Taiwan was under Japanese rule and as a result, the architecture embraces strong traditional hints.

JG Architecture was employed with the task to convert the building -- which was severely underkept and damaged, into a residence that will satisfy the lifestyle of the modern family. Whilst doing this, the plant-filled home also pays homage to its roots as JG Architecture paid particular attention to preserving heritage through reinforcing the "Japanese hinko wood window-frames." A strong dichotomy was created with the contemporary elements of design, facilitating an interesting environment.

In addition, the layout was kept open, in order to satisfy the needs of a growing family and their children.
