Summer is a prime time for selfies and the PicNix.co by Allen & Gerritsen, an ad agency based in Philedelphia, gives people an opportunity to tell their friends how they really feel about their Instagram onslaught. Whether shot with a beer in hand or a building in the background, the selfie is becoming more than simply narcissistic, it is down right annoying.
PicNix.co by Allen & Gerritsen is an online service, aided by the arms of a robot, that posts one of 16 prefabbed images and user-taunting captions to address any number of selfie-related infractions. George Ward, VP of innovation, says, "If you don’t have a personal relationship with a user that you follow, things are easy: You just unfollow. But with friends, it’s different and things can get awkward, so we wanted to build in the ability to remain anonymous--but to give them the heads-up."
