The Conceptual 'Phloss' Eliminates the Need for Conventional Floss

Dental floss is an essential oral care product but has become somewhat problematic as it has begun to be observed in our waterways and oceans, so the conceptual 'Phloss' is positioned as a way to eliminate the need for it. The oral care device works by being filled with a spool of floss before positioning just the right amount into the accompanying holder at the top. The used floss is then deposited into the refill chamber and can be sent back to the company for recycling to keep it out of the environment.

The conceptual 'Phloss' oral care device is the design work of Charlie Boyle and is the winner of the Joseph Joseph Brilliantly Useful Design Award at the New Designers Awards 2020.
