PerioTrap Microbiome Toothpaste isn't just an everyday oral care solution for caring for teeth and strengthening gums, it applies patented technology to selectively target disruptive bacteria and preserve the mouth's natural balance, so that beneficial bacteria can thrive.
To support the development of this toothpaste innovation, Fraunhofer IZI's team conducted biochemical analyses and structural biology studies. "Rather than simply killing gingivitis pathogens, it inhibits their growth," shared Stephan Schilling, Head of the Molecular Drug Biochemistry and Therapy Development at Fraunhofer IZI. "They are unable to exert their toxic effects, so beneficial bacteria can occupy niches that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. In this way, the substance works in harmony with healthy bacteria to gently rebuild and stabilize the microbial balance in the mouth."
