Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring Couture Line is Inspired by the Iconic Le Palace

French designer Jean Paul Gaultier is no stranger to bringing a party to Couture Week runways and his Spring 2016 show was no different. For his latest presentation, the popular Parisian designer sent out a collection of eccentric looks inspired by the legendary nightclub Le Palace.

Le Palace was a nightclub with iconic history behind it and unfortunately a nightclub that isn't made anymore. Gaultier recreated the club's liveliness by having models strut down the runway with champagne in hand while others smoked and gave one another subtle side eye. The clothing also captured the club's essence with pieces like a fully embroidered men's smoking jacket and a crystal-covered cape with lace edging. Jean Paul Gaultier also included a number of denim looks, which include bleached pieces and jackets paired with evening wear.

Le Palace may be long gone but its vibrant legacy lives on through this designer's creations.
