Inflatable Flower Pavilions

These Oversized Flowers Provide Shade and Playground Space

Berlin-based design company Atelier Zundel Cristea designed these oversized flowers, which were made to be put in parks all over the city. From far away, these structures look like white tents, but up close, it is clear that there are six pedals connecting together to create one large flower. Made out of inflatable materials, the petals act as a trampoline and playground for children, while also providing shade and protection from the sun.

These oversized flowers were made in a stark white color to contrast from the surrounding greenery, with lights at the top to illuminate the structure at night. The flower pavilions were made with lightweight materials, making them easy to transport, as they can be placed together in groups or scattered apart.
