Vacationing Planet Photography

The Photo Series 'Our Solar System Takes a Holiday' is Surreal

Photographer David Jordan Williams's latest installation showcases the large planets of the solar system in everyday earth settings in his series entitled 'Our Solar System Takes a Holiday.'

The idea for the series is simple: everybody needs a vacation every now and again, so why don't the planets take one? The photographs are of stunning earth landscapes seem ordinary at first until, almost immediately, the viewer notices a large planet among the scenery. Some of the planets are floating above a calm body of water or in a dense forest, while some photographs have the planets resting in a field of grass or along the sideway of a city street.

Williams came up for the idea for Our Solar System Takes a Holiday purely with his imagination.
