Sonja Picard's Zen-Luxe Jewels Stand Out Among Necklace-Free Oscar Win

Most of this year’s Oscar winners weren’t seen wearing necklaces, which helped the stunning yoga-inspired jewelery by Sonja Picard stand out among a sea of bare chests.

Picard’s designs are based on yoga symbols, which will no doubt contribute to their popularity; yoga continues to be one of the most favored forms of exercise by a huge, health-focused demographic, which includes many stars.

The beautiful gold and Swiss blue jewels were seen adorning the neck of ABC reporter Carla Wohl, for the second year in a row.

"It’s a very competitive market to get onto the Oscars because you’re competing with such high-profile jewelry companies such as Cartier or Neil Lane," Sonja Picard said. "You know that they spend millions upon millions of dollars courting the actresses to wear their work."

"For a small designer, to even just be apart of the Oscars is a big deal for us."

If this catches on, maybe we’ll start seeing yoga-loving Oscar winners and nominees start wearing this line.

Each piece has a yogic significance; the Nagakanya ring, for example, is described as "Holding a diamond in their hands the Nagakanyas carry either an exquisite blue topaz, citrine or pink quartz set in 14K gold or silver."

The first two image in the gallery shows the pieces worn at the Academy Awards, while the rest of the collection shows other yoga jewelery by Sonja Picard.
