Mozilla Announces the Mozilla Open Source Support Program

Created in 2015, the MOSS Program by Mozilla has the aim to inspire open-source technology through "providing catalytic funding." In a bid to inspire and empower open-source tech that will help to "increase the capacity of the world’s healthcare systems to cope with [the COVID-19 pandemic]," the Mozilla Open Source Support Program is debuted.

This is described as a "COVID-19 Solutions Fund" and it will provide awards up to $50,000 for each open-source tech that is selected. The fund is allocated for "reasonably mature projects that can immediately deploy [Mozilla's] funding." The open-source tech applications welcome innovations in hardware and software--from "open-source ventilators" to "platforms that connect hospitals with people who have 3D printers," and so on.
