Coursera and Ultimaker Partner to Create Online Tutorials For Beginners

The prevalence of 3D printing has many consumers looking to fine-tune their skills in the new technology, which new online tutorials from Coursera and Ultimaker help provide. The online courses will feature four different modules to help users learn how to effectively make the most of their new printer equipment.

Starting from the beginning, the online classes give a background on how 3D printing works and the various applications behind the process. Being that average consumers are becoming content and product creators more than ever, the new online tutorials are a step in a more open-source direction.

CTO and founder of Ultimaker, Siert Wijnia, explains more about the new classes: "Ultimaker’s vision is to make 3D printing accessible to all and has been reflected in our open source printers and community inspired collaborations. With Coursera and the Illinois MakerLab, we are helping to optimize 3D printing courses that are available to everyone interested in digital making with our hands-on knowledge of 3D printing."
