Hypnotic Lighting Installations

Onion Skin by Olivier Ratsi Explores Concept of Time and Space

Absolutely hypnotizing, Onion Skin by Olivier Ratsi, a visual artist based in Paris, France, is a light installation that plays with people's perceptions in a dynamic way. A display of shifting lines on two huge monitors, it "is a graphical work about the re-composition of time and space through a game of perspectives," according to the creator.

The first stage in the Echolyse project, Onion Skin by Olivier Ratsi revolves around 'peelings' that follow a principle of repetition and scale. Made up of four parts that lasts 14 minutes, the stunning performance is accompanied by music composed by Thomas Vaquié. The bright neon lights and geometric grid will bring to mind a matrix akin to that found in the blockbuster movie, 'TRON: Legacy." It is very futuristic.
