The ombre overhaul started with hair and now ombre lips are becoming bigger and bolder than ever before. Ombre lips are basically a gradation of color from lightest to darkest that begins at the center of the mouth. You can achieve this look by outlining your lips with a dark shade from a lip pencil or lipstick, this will also fake a fuller lip.
Ombre lips have been seen on the runways over the years from Dior, Miu Miu, Kenneth Cole and more. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics CEO and creative direction David Klasfeld talks about how ombre lips are rooted from drag makeup. Klasfeld said that "It's been a trick of the trade on stage anywhere, be it on the runway or in the theater, to make lips appear as large as possible without looking overdrawn simply with lip liner."
