Shipping Container Music Venues

These Architects Built a Music Venue from Old Shipping Containers

Savioz Fabrizzi Architects created a music venue using old shipping containers in Sion, a region in the south of Switzerland. The project essentially took old shipping containers and placed them inside an existing building to create room differentiation.

The music venue features a 300 seat concert hall with separate dressing rooms, a rehearsal room and a ticket box office. The use of storage containers allowed the architects to easily create different rooms and section off the building exactly where they wanted to. The venue, which reaches two storeys in height is a sturdy structure that utilizes the standardized dimensions and stacking abilities of the containers.

While other projects have used these shipping containers for homes as well as artistic mural projects, this unique musical venue is a one of a kind facility that changes the way the music is heard and created.
