The Obverse Box Documents Past Experiences

The Obverse Box by the artist Deru is similar to a time-traveling capsule, and is based off "a collection of found articles, letters, photos, and other ephemera left behind by the late philosopher jackson sonnanfeld-arden – his original obverse box was discovered in 2003 at a flea market in los angeles," according to DesignBoom.

The box is an interesting audio and visual experience for people, as they are able to live through the past in a very different manner. The device is actually filled with the artist Deru's video album titled 1979, which inevitably will have people re-living this period through the distinct Obverse Box.

According to the artist, "memory is one of our greatest gifts; it gives us access to time, to identity, to dreams." The Obverse Box aims to highlight these things. Photo Credits: designboom, deru.la
