OASIS at Alcova Presented a Desert-Inspired Installation by Casa AnKan

OASIS was an immersive exhibition presented by collectible design gallery Casa AnKan at Alcova during Miami Art Week in Miami Beach. The installation was conceived as a desert-inspired sanctuary intended to offer a moment of stillness amid the city’s busy Art Basel Miami and related events. Casa AnKan’s founders curated works by seven designers and artists whose pieces collectively shaped the spatial atmosphere through materiality and form. The exhibited objects included a hand-shaped walnut mirror by Amorph, a layered wood and paper cabinet, and gypsum-, acrylic-, and wool-based sculptural work created exclusively for OASIS.

Additional works on display ranged from sculptural seating created from marble offcuts to fiberglass lighting coated in marble and quartz powder, mouth-blown glass pendants, and a hand-tufted wool rug. Several objects responded to light, texture, and craft traditions, with pieces positioned throughout the sanctuary-like space to encourage close viewing.
