Torturous Amorphous Pumps

The NOVA Shoes Brings Footwear Far into the Future

Envisioning what shoes of the future will look like, designers Zaha Hadid and Rem D. Koolhaas created the NOVA Shoes for footwear brand United Nude. The limited edition pumps use a plethora of materials to encase your feet in a bizarre and futuristic bind. Hadid and Koolhaas used leather, rubber, vinyl and fiberglass to create their strangely chic creation.

According to Koolhaas, the NOVA project came about when the duo wanted to make "one of the most innovative shoes ever produced." The pair then proceeded to make a ridged shoe that seemingly has four different layers. However, the NOVA still manages to fit like a normal shoe.

United Nude is producing 100 of the limited edition shoes for a few early adopters to purchase. The pumps come at a steep price of $2,000 for a pair.
