Treehouse-Inspired Norwegian Residences

This House Aesthetically Connects With its Surroundings

Celebrated Norwegian engineer Tor Helge Dokka has teamed up with none other than the country's famous architecture firm Snohetta in order to create a spectacular Norwegian residence that is inspired by the aesthetics and functionality of treehouses.

'House Dokka,' which is located in the Kongsberg area of Norway, is designed to look like it's levitating above the landscape thanks to the fact that it is situated atop a series of strong columns. The residence makes use of eco-friendly, locally sourced timber. Stunningly, no nails were used in the construction process, meaning that when the home needs to someday be renovated or broken down, its timber materials can quickly and easily be sorted for recycling.

Measuring in at over 2,000 square feet, this Norwegian residence is energy-efficient while its aesthetics stand out due to the manner in which it blends into and respects the surrounding environment.
