Downscaled Designer Retailers

Nordstrom Local is a New Store By the Nordstrom Brand

Nordstrom is a designer department store that tends to be around 140,000 square feet in size, but the brand is opening a much smaller location in West Hollywood, California, called Nordstrom Local.

The new store design sees the brand doing a complete 180 in what it offers, with the store layout itself being only 3,000 square feet in size. In addition, it will not sell any clothes but instead will have various services like personal stylists, a bar, manicures, and in-store pick ups for online orders. The Nordstrom Local will also have eight dressing rooms in which shoppers are able to try on clothes and accessories that the personal stylists will have retrieved from Nordstrom locations, or through the brand's website.

Though visitors cannot purchase clothing or accessories from this new retail concept, they will be able to interact with the brand in a way that is more engaging and experiential than its more traditional counterparts.
